

As Executive Vice President of Business Development, Mitchel Allen specializes in providing market analysis and site selection assistance to international and domestic companies looking to expand or relocate their business to Greater Richmond. In his role, he is responsible for implementing the strategy plan to attract more business to the region.
Over the course of his decades-long career in economic development, Mitchel has successfully recruited over 60 companies creating more than 8,900 jobs and accounting for $4 billion in economic impact. Mitchel has received several awards and recognitions throughout his career including being named as one of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers in 2020 and 2017, a recipient of the 40 Under 40 Development Counsellors International (DCI) award in 2019 and Economic Developer of the Year by the Arizona Association of Economic Development (AAED) in 2017.
Prior to joining GRP, Mitchel was the Senior Vice President of Business Development at the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) where he managed the business development team and created programs to attract more business to the region. Prior to GPEC, Mitchel worked for the City of Chandler as an Economic Development Specialist where he focused on business attraction, retention and expansion as well as collaborated with regional and state agencies. He also managed the 60,000-square-foot Innovations Science and Technology Incubator in Chandler, which opened in 2011.
Mitchel was born and raised in Tempe, Ariz., where he earned his bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University. Mitchel is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Denver.
Mitchel is a huge Phoenix Suns basketball fan and looks forward to watching them win the NBA championship every year.
